Editorial policy
Strong at Forty is written by Barbara. Every article starts from a reviewed evidence file; a draft is built from it with software, checked by a machine against our editorial rules, and read and approved by Barbara before it goes live. Where an article quotes research it says who was studied, what they took and for how long. Nothing here is a diagnosis or a treatment; if something hurts, bleeds or will not go away, see a clinician.
How a page is made
1. A real question people ask. 2. An evidence file for the topic: the studies, who was in them, what they took and for how long, and the contrary findings, each with a DOI. 3. A draft built from that file in Barbara's voice with software. 4. An automated check of our editorial, accuracy and disclosure rules, including the rule that a page about a health condition never links to a product. 5. Barbara reads and approves it. 6. Publication, with the date shown. Updates change the date only when the content changes.
What we do not publish
Diagnoses. Cures. Promises of results. Numbers we did not measure. Studies we did not read. Before-and-after bodies. Content copied from elsewhere.
Money
Barbara of North owns Fuels by Barbara and Greens of North. Our publications may mention them on pages about food, training and plans. They never mention them on a page that discusses a health condition, and product pages never cite research. Where a page carries an affiliate link it says so above the link. Pages about conditions never carry advertising.
